Leak Detection
[MONITOR & ALERT]

CostWatch installs monitoring equipment to measure water use and identifies either constant or abnormally high water use, outside of usual patterns. CostWatch can detect leaks as small as 0.1 gallons per minute within 24 hours and alert of large leaks within 10 minutes, via email.

With onsite battery back-up and utilizing the robust cellular network, CostWatch Leak Detection provides accurate and reliable peace of mind.

water metering
[metering]

For multi-tenanted properties, which receive a single water bill from the utility provider, distributing the water costs is a time-consuming, error-prone and repetitive process. CostWatch sub-metering is highly accurate and takes this daunting task down to a few minutes on any internet enabled device.

The CostWatch wireless communications enables cost-effective installation and removes the task of manual meter readings. Our online billing portal enables property managers to generate bills from any internet enabled device, quickly and easily.

Property managers can generate water bills for a desired time-period quickly and even upload them to accounting software directly. We can help you with our full service approach. Our sub-metering solutions are tailored to your needs and backed by strong and innovative technology.

Tenants can query their bills online, via the CostWatch graphics portal, and enjoy the peace of mind CostWatch provides for their home.

auto Water Shut-ofF
[automation]

To solve the problem of catastrophic leaks, which can cost tens of thousands of dollars in damages, we have developed an advanced technology solution, which was launched in mid-2016.

If you are looking for a reliable solution for:

  • Rapid leak detection and protection against flooding from pressurized water lines
  • Simple and immediate override for periods of planned high use
  • Automatic system checks and all-inclusive maintenance guarantee

Living up to its name, CostWatch Auto Water Shut-off can detect and react to catastrophic leaks in less than a minute, shutting off the water and issuing an email notification.

Some practical features of CostWatch Auto Water Shut-off solution are:

  • Factory calibrated to allow use levels for normal activities
  • Continuous learning of usage patterns, avoiding nuisance shut-offs at peak times
  • Can be overridden by wireless remote or any online device, for anticipated high usage
  • Has over 24-hour continuous operation during power outages
  • Performs automated systems checks daily, triggering service calls when needed
  • A single flood protection device per home minimizes the points of failure and keeps installation and maintenance costs as low as possible

The cost of implementing and maintaining the CostWatch Auto Water Shut-off solution is significantly lower than other systems currently available on the market. The reliability this service alleviates the risk of flood and vastly improves the human response time.

CostWatch aims to keep water waste and flood damage to an absolute minimum, delivering peace of mind and conserving a valuable resource.

Irrigation Control & Optimization
[AUTOMATION]

While monitoring water for our clients, primarily for leak detection, we’ve observed that irrigation can be over 80% of common area water consumption. This is especially the case in multi-residential developments and hotels, which tend to have extensive landscaping.

Some properties opt for a minimal or drought resistant landscape to reduce the impact of irrigation. Others, opt for lush, extensive vegetation to beautify the property and are willing endure the water expense to achieve it. Over the years many properties have come to accept the high costs associated with irrigation as normal. We can enhance irrigation control for our customers, reducing water consumption, while maintaining landscape quality.

CostWatch Irrigation Optimization uses ground moisture measurements to provide intelligent control. Each zone can be configured with settings specific to plant type, soil type, gradients and sun exposure, enabling water use to be minimized, while maintaining landscape beauty. This intelligent method of control has proven to reduce irrigation water costs by over 25%.

If irrigation is primarily supplied from cistern water, with utility water as a secondary supply, automation can be installed to minimize the amount of utility water used.

Wireless

Large properties typically have multiple timers which can be located hundreds of meters apart. On top of this, the ideal sensor location can be hundreds of meters from a timer’s location. Our solution utilizes wireless technology, enabling sensor readings from the most suitable location(s) to control multiple timers.

Intelligent

To ensure proper irrigation for multiple zones the variation in terrain harshness needs to be accounted for. The harsher a terrain the more watering it requires. A lot of waste is generated by over-watering some areas in order to get enough water to harsher areas.

Our solution allows the installer to set up multiple terrain groups, each with their own soil moisture sensor. A terrain group is a group of irrigation zones with similar terrain harshness. Terrain harshness is defined by sun-exposure, gradients and soil type and plant type. Furthermore, within a group each zone can be fine-tuned to an appropriate set-point.

After the initial configuration the setting should remain constant unless there are significant changes to the landscaping. The landscaper can perform any further fine tuning, to adjust for rainy and dry season, by adjusting the zone run-times.

Monitored

Once an automated system is installed it would be ideal for it to work forever with zero maintenance, but this is never the case. Routine systems check, monitored feedback and site visits ensure that systems maintain peak operation. This is especially important for irrigation, during a predictable dry season for example, where a few days without water can have a significant affect.

CostWatch monitoring reports system feedback to the CostWatch personnel, triggering maintenance visits when required. Potential irrigation malfunctions include:

  • Damage to sensor
  • Loss of power, preventing irrigation
  • Excessive water use due to leaks or timer malfunctions
  • Under watering due to timer or zone malfunctions
